ABOUT

Four people: a longhaired woman holding her right hand up; a woman with her long blonde hair blowing in the wind; a shorthaired man buttoning up a long-sleeve shirt; a smiling man with glasses, sitting in a wheelchair.

ACCESSIBILITY

Arts on Tour is committed to ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy and participate in touring performing arts experiences and events. We care about creating equitable and accessible environments for artists and audiences by working with our presenter and producer partners on accessibility and inclusive strategies.

ARTISTS

We seek out disability-led projects for tour development, and work with artists and crew on the road to ensure their access requirements are met at every stage of the tour, from contracting and tour preparation, to travel, accommodation and performance. We have developed an ongoing partnership with Accessible Arts whom we have worked with on several tours of their project, Are You Pulling My Leg?

Audiences

In collaboration with the producers and presenters we work with, we endeavour for our shows to be inclusive and accessible to a wide array of audiences, including facilitating access services such as Auslan, audio description, tactile tours, and relaxed performances where possible.

SECTOR EVENTS

We strive for each of our annual sector development events to also be inclusive and accessible, including our in-person pitching and networking event, Salon, and our new Green Touring Online Series, which was live captioned and Auslan interpreted. Our in-person Tour Lab event also incorporates access, and in 2024, featured Accessible Arts' CEO Liz Martin, who spoke about best practice and shared case studies and resources with artists and producers to help them build access into their touring from the outset.

If you have any questions about access services, please email admin@artsontour.com.au or phone (02) 8038 1880.
