Arts on Tour works with NSW-based producers across the sector and across genres – from independent artists and creative producers to performing arts organisations large and small. Our aim is to work in partnership with producers to increase your capacity to tour. For emerging tourers, when the focus is on market development, this means being your trusty advisor, navigator and relationship-broker. For more seasoned and regular tourers, it means lightening the load by becoming your external touring department and being your strategic partner, thinking long-term about your touring goals. Irrespective of the stage, our approach is to lead from behind: we’ll provide the expertise to enable you to be out front, building and maintaining relationships with presenters and getting to know your audiences.

WHAT WE WORK ON

We work with metropolitan-based and regional producers on mainstage productions as well as smaller scale work for studio spaces or alternative venues. Most mainstage work requires touring funding through Playing Australia and Create NSW to make it financially viable for presenters. Some smaller scale work can tour without funding. We work with both models.

FEE FOR SERVICE

Arts on Tour is a fee for service organisation. We can provide a full service - including all of the services above - or just some of these services. The projects we take on, the services we provide and the fees we charge are determined by our capacity, both Arts and Tour's and Create NSW's strategic priorities, and our financial sustainability. We work with producers to minimise the impact of these fees on the producer’s ability to undertake touring projects - ultimately, we all want to get the show on the road.
