One of Sydney's most acclaimed theatre companies, Outhouse Theatre Co, brings its celebrated production to regional audiences in 2028. Full of warmth, wit and hard-won truth, So Young is an unflinching exploration of grief, friendship and the impossible hope of starting again. Audiences leave laughing, reminiscing and calling an old friend on the way home.

So Young is a funny, furious and deeply moving play about loss, love and the messy business of growing older when the heart still wants to feel twenty.
She's gone. So young. He's moved on. So soon.
Summer 2021. Lockdown is over. Just. Three months ago Milo lost his wife to Covid. She was only forty-five. So young. Tonight he has invited his two oldest pals, Davie and Liane, over for wine, music and memories. And there's something else… He wants them to meet the new love of his life. Her name is Greta. They met online. And she's twenty years old.
From acclaimed Outhouse Theatre Co (English, Eureka Day, Ulster American, Consent) comes the Australian premiere of one of Scotland’s most celebrated contemporary playwrights.
So Young is a razor-sharp comedy-drama that balances laugh-out-loud humour with extraordinary emotional honesty. Its universal themes of love, loss, family, friendship and second chances resonate across generations, creating an exciting and accessible theatrical experience. It is the kind of theatre that inspires lively post-show conversations about relationships, resilience, forgiveness and the courage to embrace change.
