Terrapin’s inventive reimagining of this classic tale brings everyone's favourite characters into the small town of Grinalong - and careening into the here and now. Touring nationally in 2018. |
When the new mayor announces the return of the local motor race, the Grinalong Classic, the whole town is excited. But the race will go through Tangled Woods, where a giant wolf is rumoured to live.
With everything she knows and loves at stake, Red must convince her mechanically savvy Gran to let her compete and overcome her own fears in the process. Red and Gran fight for survival, relying on their wit, determination and cunning to overcome the Mayor and win The Classic.
Exploring themes of environmental and civic responsibility, the survival of small towns and the strength of women, young and old, the story is inventively brought to life using slot car racing. Cameras are situated around the circuit to magnify the action live onscreen, putting the audience in the driving seat as they follow Red on her adventure.
Featuring wonderful performances, a high-energy soundtrack and the puppetry that has made Terrapin famous locally, nationally and internationally, Red Racing Hood will tour to Victoria, NSW and Queensland in 2018.
"Overall this is a great children’s show, perhaps perfectly pitched for a primary school audience, and the audience I sat amongst certainly loved it."
