Pickled is a three act (no intermission) theatre piece created in consultation with the Arab-Australian queer community in South West Sydney. It is an ode to the deeper relationship we have with our parents, an understanding of what they gave up to make it to Australia, and a powerful reclamation of identity for young cultural people who want to find themselves

"The idea emerged during COVID when everyone was locked up, and there were a lot of human relationships that were isolated. It prompted my fascination with how people react to death and what it brings to the surface, especially when Arab families fight over inheritance and what belongs to them.
And introspective, the idea of inheritance took more of a symbolic and quirky twist. It made me contemplate when my parents passed; what will our inheritance be? Will it be a Centrelink debt? Will it be like a 1992 Toyota Camry?"
