Artist Residency Initiative

Arts on Tour plays a supporting role in the development of performance projects initiated and seeded by regional NSW communities.

In its essence, the Artist Residency Initiative is a brokering service. We are connected to artists (writers, directors, creative producers, designers, actors) and arts organisations across NSW, and we can ‘match up’ artists to regional projects. Each project will look different, and we can offer a range of services as part of the Initiative.

Who’s it for?
Venues, artists, producers, or community leaders based in regional NSW are eligible to apply. You may be looking for a professional artist or producer to

  • provide the rocket fuel behind your project,
  • provide upskilling to advance your idea into a concrete plan
  • build your capacity of the artists involved to take the project to the next level
  • support the creative development of the project in a particular skill area

Selection criteria - what are we looking for?

  • ARTISTIC – the quality of the idea
  • ARTISTS – the calibre, potential, and commitment of the artist/s involved
  • IMPACT – how the project will increase your capacity as a creative generator and add to the artistic vibrancy of your community?
  • COMMUNITY - engagement opportunities offered to your community around the project
  • DIVERSITY – of artists involved, stories, modes of outcome and presentation, and artform

How do I get involved?
We’d like a one page EOI from you describing

  • Who you are
  • What is your idea, need, or project?
  • What it is you are looking for – an upskilling or brainstorming weekend intensive, a period of creative development, or something else?
  • When and where would you like to do it?
  • Please attach a short biog (and biogs of others involved)

Deadline for EOIs

  • EOIS are now closed

We encourage you to please get in touch with Kate on kate@artsontour.com.au or 02 8038 1880 to discuss your idea before you submit an EOI

This project is proudly supported by the NSW Government though Create NSW as part of Arts Restart
